Evangelism Explosion

Did you know that sharing the Gospel with others was not a suggestion, but a command? Evangelism should be the lifestyle of every born-again believer. Christ commanded us in Matthew 28:19 to go make disciples of every nation, but before we can do that, we have to share the gospel with someone else.

In addition to Christ commanding us, here are other reasons why believers should evangelize:

  1. To love others by telling them the truth and giving them a chance to hear God’s word and respond to His offer of salvation. (John 13:35, 1 Corinthians 13:1-7, Galatians 5:16, John 3:16-18, 1 John 4:20).
  2. To build your faith by strengthening your own beliefs through study and preparation to share the Good News with others. 1 Peter 3:15 commands us to be prepared to give an answer with gentleness and respect.
  3. To store up treasure in heaven. Matthew 6:19 says that our treasure in heaven is a reward for what we did on earth in His name for His glory.
  4. To demonstrate the overflow of the hope that is within us (Hebrews 6:19, 1 Peter 3:15). As believers, we should be so filled with joy that we can’t help but tell everyone about it. We should be drawn to His Word, worship, and to others who love Him. We should seek chances to tell others about Him.
  5. To please the Lord. Teaching others about Him and how to have a relationship with Him is a way to please Him and in pleasing Him we are most fulfilled (Galatians 2:20).

Are you scared to share your faith with others? We have ways to help you overcome that fear and ground yourself in the Biblical truth to aid your conversations with others. See the training opportunities below:

Everyday Evangelism Clinic: Every Spring, we host an annual 3-and-a-half-day clinic for pastors and church leaders to learn how to implement the Evangelism Explosion program at their churches. Participants learn the 5-point presentation, and practice, and are given materials to take the program into their churches to build their own teams to share the Gospel in their communities. Participants will be provided a light, continental-style breakfast and snacks. Coffee, water, and other beverages are provided. Lunch is not provided. ou can visit their website at www.evangelismexplosion.org and search for Events to see when the next one is scheduled at Harmony.

Share Your Faith Workshop:  Every fall, the EE team hosts a free, one-day Share Your Faith workshop designed to teach individuals how to share their faith through the 5-point Gospel presentation. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are typically provided. Sign-up sheets will be available in August.

Many people find it easier to evangelize in a group. We have just the group for you!

Weekly Evangelism: The EE team meets every Monday night at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall. They then go in groups to various places in the community to share the Gospel.

Other Opportunities: The EE team also shares the Gospel during Hope on Wheels, Easter Celebrations, and Fall Festivals.
